At NetBox Labs, we’re excited to reflect on our long-standing collaboration with Itential, a leader in network automation solutions dedicated to simplifying, standardizing, and scaling network operations. We first partnered with Itential more than two years ago motivated by our mutual goals and a shared vision to make network automation accessible and impactful for teams of all sizes. Together, we’re not just building products; we’re actively participating in the network automation community building collaboration, innovation, and real-world results.
A Partnership Rooted in Community and Collaboration
Our journey with Itential began just as the current network automation movement built steam, with both companies playing pivotal roles in the growth of NetDevOps Days, a community-led conference aimed at advancing network automation practices. Itential’s commitment to this movement was clear from the start—they were early sponsors of NetDevOps Days in London and New York, helping create a space where practitioners from the NetBox and network automation communities could come together, share insights, and drive the industry forward.
As the network automation community expanded, we merged NetDevOps Days into AutoCon, now recognized as the premier network automation conference. Today, both NetBox Labs and Itential are proud sponsors of AutoCon, fostering an environment where networking professionals can explore the latest advancements and collaborate on solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.
Introducing New Tools and Solutions: Network Automation Heroes Webinar with torero
Recently, Wyatt Sullivan, Technical Marketing Engineer at Itential joined me for an episode of our Network Automation Heroes podcast series, which highlighted the importance of breaking down silos in network automation. The episode, Escaping the Automation Silo with Torero, focused on Itential’s new tool, torero, designed to help teams move their scripts and automations from individual developer environments to accessible, organization-wide resources. This transformation from “me” to “we” to “everybody” resonates with our own “big tent” strategy to give engineers the choice of tools they need to succeed.
torero, which Itential announced at AutoCon1, addresses the challenge of isolated automation efforts by allowing teams to streamline and scale their network scripts. In the webinar, Wyatt explains how torero helps organizations democratize their automation efforts, ensuring that network automations are no longer confined to individual laptops but accessible across teams.
Itential’s Latest Innovation: Automation as a Service
Itential has also recently introduced its Itential Automation Service offering, a modern solution that builds on torero and the Itential Platform to empower NetDevOps teams to standardize and securely share automations. This cloud-based platform offers self-service capabilities, making it easy for teams to develop, execute, and monitor network automations at scale. With enhanced security protocols and a centralized approach, Itential’s Automation Service helps teams reduce complexity while promoting best practices across their network operations. NetBox and Itential’s new offering are the perfect combination to accelerate and simplify scalable network automation.
NetBox Branching Now Available in Itential Academy
As part of our continued collaboration, Itential recently added NetBox’s new Branching functionality to their Cloud trials and workshops. With Branching introduced in NetBox 4.1, users gain powerful collaborative features, allowing them to create, manage, and merge network changes with ease. By incorporating this feature into their workshops, Itential enables its customers to master the latest in NetBox’s toolset, helping teams manage and document changes more effectively and confidently.
