NetBox Cloud Upgrade Policy

This version of the Upgrade Policy is effective as of May 23, 2024. 

NetBox Labs is committed to supporting its Products in accordance with its Support Policy. NetBox Labs will promote prompt upgrades of previous NetBox Cloud versions to maximize support. Support for preceding released versions will require Extended Version Support as described below.

NetBox Cloud versions are defined using a Major.Minor.Patch format:

  • Major versions are released approximately every other year
  • Minor versions are released approximately every 4 months
  • Patch versions are released as necessary, approximately every 2 weeks

Major & Minor version upgrades

NetBox Cloud instances will be automatically upgraded to the latest released Major or Minor version unless configured for On Demand upgrades as follows:

  • Free Services and Starter: Automatic
  • Pro: Automatic or On Demand (up to 3 months)
  • Enterprise: Automatic or On Demand (up to 6 months)

Patch version upgrades

NetBox Cloud instances will be automatically upgraded to the latest released Patch version unless configured for On Demand upgrades as follows:

  • Free Services and Starter: Automatic
  • Pro: Automatic
  • Enterprise: Automatic or On Demand (up to 1 month)

Upgrade windows

NetBox Labs will automatically upgrade customers’ NetBox Cloud instances during published weekly maintenance windows provided, however, that instances for Free Services may be upgraded at any time. Notifications will only be sent for upgrades of Starter, Pro and Enterprise tier instances that are planned outside these maintenance windows. On Demand upgrades will be scheduled in advance with customers.

Extended Version Support

Extended Version Support is a paid optional support plan that enables continued support of a NetBox Cloud version when outside the On Demand upgrade period: 

  • Free Services and Starter: Not available
  • Pro: Up to 12 months
  • Enterprise: Up to 12 months

Capitalized terms used but not defined herein have the meaning set forth in the Terms of Service
