A global commercial real estate company with $5B in ARR that runs more than 100 of the world’s most popular malls chose NetBox Cloud to modernize its IPAM strategy.
The company’s networking team handles all network-related initiatives, including SD-WAN, cloud infrastructure, private cloud, VPN, data center operations, and more. With more than 25 locations to support just in the US, the two senior network engineers tasked with operating the network for those sites were unable to juggle the myriad aspects of managing their network with legacy tools, and they were held back by their existing IPAM solution’s stale functionality and determined that the cost for their appliance based IPAM had come to outweigh its value.
They migrated their IPAM to NetBox Cloud to gain the benefits of a modern network source of truth and reap the benefits of supported upgrades, infrastructure management, and support for day-to-day challenges – important decision points for their small team when compared with operating a tool on their own.
In addition to giving more time back to the nimble networking team, NetBox Cloud removed them as a cross-functional bottleneck. Local facility managers no longer had to check in with the networking team for information – they could look up the IPAM information they needed right in NetBox Cloud and use it as a source of truth. Likewise, the corporate security team could rely on NetBox Cloud to verify IP addresses and subnets while they completed vulnerability testing.
Now, the team is expanding their use of NetBox Cloud beyond IPAM, documenting more of their network infrastructure in NetBox’s comprehensive and consistent model, and enabling local and central teams to operate more efficiently and consistently.
