This time last year a small group at NetBox Labs got together to discuss how we should honor the 10-year anniversary of NetBox being open-sourced. (Official date is June 27, 2016 for those not keeping track.) We recognized it was a huge moment for the project, the community that built it, and the many teammates and partners at NetBox Labs who support it. This milestone needed its moment.

Celebrating the NetBox community and the NetBox brand itself was personally really important to me, having spent a bulk of my marketing career at/inservice to companies with open source roots (shoutout to the Jenkins and MongoDB communities!) Open source community members, and in particular NetBox community members specifically, are incredibly smart, dedicated people who see a challenge and where many would say “I’m out,” lean in. I see comments like this all the time in our NetDev Slack, where a person new to NetBox has a question and a veteran NetBox user replies with “what if you tried this” and offer guidance to a stranger on what worked for them. Similarly, on our monthly community calls each month, a new presenter shares how they are using a new tool. They are passionate, curious, and prone to action. From those using NetBox in their home labs, to the super users at Fortune 100 brands, they are constantly pushing the limit of what is achievable.

Celebrating the NetBox community and the large ecosystem of partners and our customers that has grown around it was why we announced the first-ever global conference for the NetBox ecosystem is being held this fall. NetBox Evolve, to be held at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on October 13, will see community users, ecosystem partners, NetBox customers, and advocates of all kinds come together to celebrate all that NetBox has become and where it’s headed next.

Today, I’m excited to share that our Call For Papers is now open. We are looking for real-world infrastructure success stories on scaling infrastructure with automation and AI, community shares tackling common infra challenges, lessons learned from those just beginning to modernize their infrastructure, and more. At any event, the people and the content are what is memorable and we look forward to seeing how the NetBox ecosystem helps shape this event.

Prospective speakers are encouraged to submit abstracts on topics such as:

  • Modeling infrastructure
  • Visibility and analytics
  • Agentic infrastructure operations
  • Risk reduction and governance
  • The NetBox ecosystem

NetBox Evolve sessions will take a variety of formats, including solo keynotes, community shares, user success stories, panel discussions, and more. Most of the day’s sessions will follow one track, but there will be opportunities for breakouts throughout the day to focus on such topics as AI strategy, the convergence of IT/OT, AI datacenters, etc.

Submit your idea for a session or panel today.
