Today, the NetBox community converges at Kennedy Space Center for the first global NetBox conference ever. Over 200 attendees will be on hand to hear open source users share their success stories, customers speak to how the NetBox Labs platform has made their modernization journey possible, partners discuss their lessons learned from dozens of enterprise-scale projects, and leaders on the forefront of technology describe ways NetBox is being folded into their offerings.

I have the pleasure of delivering the day’s keynote and unveiling both the latest capabilities we are bringing to market in our platform and exciting new partnerships with technology industry leaders NVIDIA and Grafana Labs. Announced in June, the NetBox Labs infrastructure intelligence platform extends the most popular system of record with the systems of insight, action, and control modern infrastructure teams need. It takes the fragmented systems running enterprise infrastructure and turns them into a single, governed foundation for humans and agents. The announcements we’re making today enhance our infrastructure intelligence platform with new capabilities that extend NetBox’s position as the central intelligence layer for the world’s technology infrastructure.

Read on to learn more about the exciting news being announced at today’s show. And if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry – we will have recordings of all NetBox Evolve sessions available following the event.

Model what you run and what you plan

NetBox Designs enters public preview today on the SaaS edition of the NetBox Labs platform. Create a new site, rack, POP or even retail store footprint in NetBox from a reviewed design, so each build matches the standard, and an on-demand drift check shows where a site no longer matches its design. It will also pre-populate a bill of materials in NetBox Asset Lifecycle, so the team can order hardware straight from the design instead of retyping the parts list. <Read the NetBox Designs post.>

Six new integrations automatically sync data from the cloud, security, and container tools teams already run into NetBox, so engineers can stop maintaining vendor data by hand. NetBox now pulls managed switches from Arista CloudVision and Cisco Nexus Dashboard, cloud address space from AWS VPC IPAM, firewalls and virtual systems from Palo Alto Panorama, and clusters, nodes, pod and service address space from Kubernetes. It also maps Tenable vulnerability findings to assets NetBox already tracks. The Cloudvision, Nexus Dashboard, and AWS VPC IPAM integrations GA soon, with Panorama, Tenable, and Kubernetes integrations moving to public preview. All of these integrations run through NetBox Assurance, so incoming changes can be held for approval before they reach the system of record.

NetBox Visual Explorer GA is coming next month. Its’ visualizations incorporate context directly from the NetBox Labs platform system of record, from a WAN map to a rack’s power chain, and show single points of failure and capacity pressure, so teams can fix risks in place instead of hunting through tables. Any rack, device, or prefix in a view links to its NetBox record.

See answers where teams already look

Today, we’re also announcing that teams have access to enhanced network and datacenter infrastructure observability through the free, open source NetBox data source plugin, now generally available in the Grafana plugin catalog. It brings authoritative infrastructure context to Grafana dashboards and alerts. NetBox Labs’ open source Orb telemetry platform is also available today, giving Grafana Cloud users a modern source for network flow and packet telemetry.

NetBox Analytics, available on the SaaS edition, answers capacity, lifecycle, and risk questions from the record with pre-built dashboards, without CSV exports or scripts. GA is coming next month, with new dashboards that answer more of those questions out of the box. You can try it in public preview now.

Act on intent with your agents or ours

The NetBox Labs Platform MCP Server, GA on the SaaS edition today, puts the AI tools teams already use to work on real infrastructure data. The Platform MCP service is hosted by NetBox Labs, and available for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any Model Context Protocol (MCP) client or agent. It provides read access to the data in the NetBox Labs platform. Where write access is enabled, it can also update that data following the permissions your team sets.

We’re also announcing three new pre-built NetBox Agents in public preview today on the SaaS edition. The Data Quality Steward, Change Review Agent, and Lifecycle & Version Compliance Agent take more routine work off a team’s plate, alongside the existing Reporting, IPAM, and Troubleshooting agents.

The same guardrails for people and agents

NetBox Designs, Platform MCP, and NetBox Agents run on the governance already built into the NetBox Labs Infrastructure Intelligence Platform. AI clients and NetBox Agents work within the NetBox permissions a team already manages, so security can approve them on rules it already trusts. For NetBox Agents, your team sets each type of action to Always allow, Needs approval, or Blocked. Where NetBox Branching is enabled, teams can stage changes from designs, AI clients, and agents for review before they merge, and audit them afterward through the same change management as any other edit.

What’s Next?

As you’ve read, NetBox Labs has added even more capabilities to the NetBox Labs platform so that teams have the intelligence they need to build and run complex infrastructure more easily, securely, and efficiently.
