NetBox Cloud and NetBox Enterprise Are Now The Easiest Way To Try NetBox Branching

Just a few days ago, NetBox 4.1 and the NetBox Branching plugin became generally available.  Today, we’re excited to announce that NetBox 4.1 with Branching is now available in all tiers for both NetBox Cloud and NetBox Enterprise.  The Branching plugin will be included in every NetBox Cloud and NetBox Enterprise installation when upgrading to NetBox 4.1, and all new installations will be deployed with NetBox 4.1 and Branching by default.

The NetBox Cloud free plan is no exception – you can now try NetBox Branching by signing up for your free NetBox Cloud instance, which is a great way to see what all the excitement is about!

Existing free plan instances will be upgraded to NetBox 4.1 with Branching in the coming days.  And all NetBox Labs customers can simply reach out to our customer support team if you’d like help getting upgraded to NetBox 4.1 in any of your environments.

We’ve also updated our pricing to reflect the new Branching features, along with the upcoming Change Management features which will also be available in all tiers of NetBox Cloud and NetBox Enterprise.  Customers in every plan will be able to use these features, with restrictions only on the number of operational branches: how many branches at any one time are active or, if merged, fully retained to enable post-merge reviews and rollbacks.  You’ll be able to archive your branches once you’re done with them to retain all the key metadata for reporting and auditing purposes.

While Branching is now a GA feature, it’s still early in its lifecycle and we have lots of ideas for improving the feature, smoothing rough edges, and working through how Branching interacts with the massive ecosystem of NetBox plugins.  So before you try Branching, check out the documentation and watch our recent webinar to get a sense of how it works, and current limitations.  And keep an eye out for enhancements like the new Change Management functionality and additional Branching features we’ve got a lot planned for the coming months!
