A Letter from Our CEO

Hi there,

As the NetBox community continues to rapidly expand, along with the NetBox Labs partner ecosystem and our product development teams, we’re pushing forward at an accelerated pace across every dimension of the NetBox ecosystem. See below for product announcements from the last month spanning the NetBox open source project, new features for NetBox Discovery, opportunities to dig into NetBox Assurance which is racing toward availability in the coming weeks, a host of integration activity, and key new NetBox AI capabilities. All of these areas will see a ton of new features and enhancements in the coming months. The pace at NetBox Labs is dizzying, and we’ll do our best to keep rounding up all the activity for you every month.

Over the last few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of hosting two exciting webinars, both with hundreds of network, infrastructure, and security leaders in attendance, on topics a little outside our usual focus on network and infrastructure management and automation. In late February, we featured the incredible work from our friends at CISA (the federal government’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), Idaho National Labs, and Corelight, the makers of the Zeek network security monitoring tool. Hearing how NetBox fits into CISA and INL’s architecture for securing national critical infrastructure was eye opening for many, and highlights the huge potential of NetBox for security use cases ranging from vulnerability management to threat detection and mitigation across IT and OT infrastructure.

More recently in mid-March, I shared first-hand insights into how we’re approaching network and infrastructure AI at NetBox Labs, including our vision for how AI will reshape network and infrastructure management, AI features available for NetBox today, and perhaps most importantly, what network and infrastructure teams need to be doing now to get moving with AI based on our conversations about the topic with dozens of teams.

These webinars (which you can watch any time) highlight the expanding importance of NetBox beyond just traditional network documentation use cases. Increasingly, organizations using NetBox are unlocking cohesive strategies spanning operations, observability, automation, and security for infrastructure ranging from traditional corporate networks, to AI datacenters, to OT/IoT, to hybrid cloud footprints, and everything in between. We are investing in innovation to support this broad array of use cases, and to fundamentally reshape the meaning of network and infrastructure management to be driven by intent, intelligence, and automation with a cohesive stack centered around NetBox and its industry standard data modeling.

That’s why we’re moving at such a fast clip across so many dimensions. There is a lot to be done. We are here to change the industry we’re in. We’re just at the start. What problems do you want us to tackle next? What use cases for NetBox, Discovery, Assurance, NetBox AI, Orb, and our other technologies do you want us to lean into? We want to hear from you: we’re inspired by the challenges of our community. Find us on Slack and reach out!

Best,
-Kris
