With the two-year anniversary of our Series A and spin-out from NS1 approaching, the NetBox Labs team put our heads together to brainstorm novel ways of marking the milestone. When thinking about ways to celebrate the massive and ever-growing open source community that powers us and is helping shape the future of network and infrastructure management, one idea stood out.
Today we are pleased to announce the NetBox Hero Awards, The NetBox Hero Awards program celebrates the community around the world’s most popular network and infrastructure platform, NetBox. These awards celebrate the wide spectrum of NetBox usage globally, from everyday users relying on NetBox’s powerful data modeling to make error-proof config changes or document their data centers, to those relying on NetBox as their source of truth to drive powerful network automation alongside other tools in the NetBox ecosystem. This is the moment for NetBox community members to showcase your work, gain the recognition you deserve, and join a vibrant community of experts.
Award Categories
We’ll be accepting nominations from the community for the NetBox Hero Awards! We invite nominations across the following categories, which highlight a range of high-impact use cases we frequently hear about from the NetBox community:
- NetBox Hero Datacenter: Recognizing excellence in using NetBox for data center network and infrastructure management use cases.
- NetBox Hero Campus: Celebrating innovative applications of NetBox in campus network environments.
- NetBox Hero Branch/Edge: Amplifying the use of NetBox in distributed footprints like those of retail branches or edge networking deployments.
- NetBox Hero Telco, ISP, IX: Honoring outstanding use cases in telecommunications, internet service providers, and internet exchange points.
- NetBox Hero Hybrid Cloud: Acknowledging seamless integration of NetBox in hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- NetBox Hero IoT/IT: Highlighting creative implementations of NetBox in IoT and IT environments.
- Community NetBox Hero: Appreciating individuals or teams who have significantly contributed to the NetBox community through development, support, plugins, or other collaborative efforts.
Winners will receive bragging rights (of course) and prizes, which vary by category, and include tickets to AutoCon events, tickets to Cisco Live, and exclusive NetBox Hero swag boxes. For those who can’t accept prizes, we’ll happily donate to a charity of your choice on your behalf.
Nomination Process
Have a NetBox story to tell, or know of a team that’s done amazing work with NetBox? Nominate yourself, your team, or another team or individual today! We want to hear from all NetBox users – new and long-time fans. You don’t need to be a super user or have the most complex setup to win.
- Review the Details: Read the short nomination form on the NetBox Hero Awards page and decide which category you would like to submit for.
- Prepare Your Story: Detail how NetBox has been utilized, emphasizing impact and best practices learned. Bonus points for any metrics you can share from before or after you used NetBox.
- Submit the Nomination: Complete the nomination form available on our NetBox Hero Awards page.
Timeline
- March 21: Official launch of the NetBox Hero Awards. Nominations open.
- April 15: Deadline for all award nominations.
- April 15 – April 28: Evaluation period by the awards committee.
- May 5: Winners announced via our blog, email, and social media channels.
Evaluation Committee
Nominations will be reviewed by a panel comprising NetBox Labs community members, executives, and operations team members. This diverse committee ensures a fair and comprehensive evaluation process.
